I am really loving Target today, friends.  They’ve gone ahead and turned their Daily Deals section into a Black Friday sale, meaning many different items are on sale and all at fab prices!

I am working my way through my email and I just stumbled across this special little gem from Target!  Through the end of the day tomorrow, July 17, 2010, take 15% off apparel, home, and baby items when you enter promo code XAN6PTS9 at checkout.

I was poking around the Target website just now and found a special section where you can get 20% Off Select Women’s Clothing Items. These aren’t sale items, but items that Target is temporarily discounting by 20%.  The good news, of course, is that you can combine the two discounts!  You rarely find discounts this good at Target on items that aren’t traditional *sale* items.

Take this Merona Collection Jamie Crepe Top, for example.

This top sells for $22.99, but is included in the 20% off sale, which will drop the price to $18.40.  The additional 15% discount will drop the price to just $15.64.

Shipping is free on purchases over $50.

To see how it would all work out I put two items in my cart that totaled $54.99, as you can see below.  Because the total was over $50 before the discounts were applied, I received free shipping and then the 20% and 15% discounts were subtracted.

$38.68 to have two items shipped from Target is really not bad at all, but I’m sure there are better deals to be found.  You could, for instance, shop the clearance racks!  If you end up snagging something at a killer price, please share!

I headed to Target yesterday because I wanted to find a holder for the myriad make-up brushes, tubes, etc. that I had strewn about my dresser.  I mentioned earlier that my Target is in complete disarray because they are in the process of transitioning into a Target + full grocery store.  It wasn’t just a little bit messy though.  Because of the transition, nothing was in the same place that it was the last time I was in Target.

As a result, instead of going straight toward the cosmetic section I just ended up wandering and browsing aimlessly.  {The best kind of Target trip, in my opinion.}

I ended up in the school/office supply aisle when I found the item you see above – the cutest little pencil holder I’ve ever seen.  Instead of pencils I could only imagine it stuffed with cosmetic items – as you see above.   I love the light gray color and the white and gray print on the inside.  The absolute best part about this find though?  The $2.79 price tag.  That’s right.  $2.79.  It doesn’t get much better than that.

When I was at Target yesterday I seriously fell in love with everything I saw. {I also re-fell in love with Target when I learned that the Target that is within walking distance of my apartment is being converted into a Target + full grocery store!} Let’s just get to the pretty little items I spotted and want oh so badly, shall we?

First up, there’s the Merona® Women’s Chambray Sundress.

This dress is so adorable and the material is very lightweight – perfect for summer! In person the dress almost looked like it was made of linen. It rings up at a very affordable $24.99.

I’m still on a navy and white kick this summer, so the Merona® Collection Women’s Ava Shift Dress blends perfectly in with the rest of my wardrobe.

One of the online reviews of the dress made me laugh because it says, “Just like Lilly Pulitzer… Only Affordable!” I have to agree. The cut of the dress combined with the lace down the center reminds me very much of some of the items you’d find at LP. And I’m inclined to agree on the price as well, as this dress is only $39.99.

So you might laugh when I tell you why my eye was directed toward this Merona® Women’s Essential Blue Print Cardigan.

Every morning I drink coffee in the car on my way to work and every morning, without fail, a drop or two spills onto the top of whatever shirt I’m wearing. I stay away from white as much as possible for this very reason, but I saw this shirt and thought to myself, “hmmm… I wonder if that lovely blue pattern would cover up any potential coffee drips?” Aside from its camouflage capabilities, this really is a lovely sweater that’ll work just as well now as it will a few months from now. The sweater costs $19.99.

The shirt is 100% cotton and felt very lightweight. I don’t own any anything quite like this shirt and it would certainly be a welcome addition to my closet! Plus, it’s a steal at just $15!

My favorite deal is the Yes to Carrots 3 piece Lip Set, which normally sells for $9.99, but today is on sale for $5.99.  After the 15% discount it’ll cost just $5.10.

I just saw this deal posted over at SwagGrabber and had to share it with all of you!

Apparently when you enter promo code TGTREACT at Target.com right now you will receive 15% off your entire order!  Now, normally 15% isn’t really anything to write home about.  But this is Target – I’ve NEVER seen a promo code for anything better than $5 off a purchase of $50.  {I tested the code out and it really does work… but who knows for how long it’ll be good?!}

If you were planning on placing an order from Target.com I recommend doing it now and taking advantage of this fab discount.  Since it’s good on anything you can find at Target.com, well, the sky is the limit!

Sorry for the lack of posts on my favorite store Target recently – can you believe I hadn’t actually set foot in a Target for almost three weeks?! I finally returned on Friday and I walked around the store in a bit of a daze, so happy was I to be back at the mother ship.

I think the biggest news that Target has going on right now is that today was the launch date for their new Zac Posen line.  I’m sad I haven’t seen anything in person because – and maybe this is sacrilege – but I’m just not a fan of what I see online.  Maybe ZP just isn’t my cup of tea.

For instance, I’m having a really hard time seeing these Zac Posen for Target Chambray Bermuda Shorts {$27} as remotely fashionable or cute.

But then again, what do I know? They’ve probably already sold out in-stores.

Merona has a great line of summer dresses out right now.  They come in so many different colors that I momentarily considered an entire wardrobe of nothing but summer dresses.  Though I’m not normally much for patterns I ended up purchasing this Merona Women’s Scoop Neck Dress in Blue Paisley Print.

I couldn’t resist it for $20, but now it’s on sale for $18. Believe me when I say these dresses are perfect for summer – they’re not super low cut so they’re wearable at work. The material is light and wearable. You can’t see it in the image above, but there is a flattering rouching of the material across the bust. Plus, it’s A-Line, so it’s flattering on everyone. I highly recommend!

My eye was also drawn to this similarly-colored but far more formal Merona Collection Women’s Lola Printed Dress.

I love the twist at the neckline and the back of the dress, although I also worry that it could be a little uncomfortable.  The material is on the thicker side, so this dress would be great for more formal settings.  It’s perhaps a little pricey at $39.99, but I would definitely pick this up once it hits the clearance racks.
