DIY: Make Your Own Captoe Shoes

by Lisa on May 16th, 2012

This is not a DIY blog and I don’t intend on it ever becoming one, mainly because I can’t/won’t/don’t DIY anything. I respect those who can, but craftiness is not in my bag of tricks.

That being said, I saw this captoe shoe DIY on Pinterest and thought it was worth sharing. The steps seem easy enough and you could use this tutorial to make capstone flats or pumps.

The only bummer? The site links back to a Spanish language blog. Luckily, I think the photos mostly speak for themselves.

Would you ever make your own pair of capstone shoes?

Bloomingdale’s Private Sale: Save on Clothes, Shoes, Handbags

by Dory on April 27th, 2012

Bloomingdale’s is having their “Private Sale” (but doesn’t everyone know about it???) in-stores and online through this Sunday, April 29th! You can save up to 40% off clothes, shoes and handbags which I love and my wallet may not. Oh welz!

If you want to get on board with the neon trend but don’t want to spend a fortune on something so shockingly bright, may I suggest these TO DIE FOR GUESS Pumps – Hondola Neon Platforms – obsessed! and on sale for only $63!

I’m loving this VINCE CAMUTO Color Block Pleat Skirt because it’s trendy while also being completely classic and chic:

I love “neutral things” but I already have tan/light brown shoes and bags – I like this gray Sam Edelman Crossbody – Odette Saddle Bag as another neutral option. I also like the fact that this could be worn year-round:

The bag is also available in black, at a lower price!

Will you shop the Bloomingdale’s Private Sale?

Check Out Ross for Inexpensive Designer Shoes for Spring & Summer

by Lisa on April 16th, 2012

Ross-Spring-Shoe-Event

If you live near a Ross, now is a good time to check them out because they’re in the middle of their Spring Shoe Event! They’ve got tons of great designer styles for spring and the prices are incredible!

I went to Ross last week and found so many pairs that I could have taken home. I was honestly shocked at the selection and the prices.

From left to right we have Etienne Aigner lobster-print espadrilles {$14.99}, GUESS Cork Wedges {$25.99}, and Steve Madden Ballet Flats {$17.99}.

Ross just recently made its way to the Chicago area, and I’ll tell you this: I am honestly impressed by their shoe section! It was more organized than the shoe section at most other discount retailers! The aisles are also wide, clean, and bright, which might be a funny thing to note but I think it makes it so much easier to shop. I’ll definitely be checking out Ross for future shoe purchases!

$25 Gets You $50 Worth of Shoes at Shoe Privee

by Lisa on April 3rd, 2012

Shoe Privee

Today’s one of those days where all I want to do is put my head down on my desk and take a nap. I just can’t stay awake!

Thank goodness there are shoe deals to get excited about! Groupon is offering a fab deal for Shoe Privee, an online shoe shoe shopping club! $25 will get you $50 toward a new pair of shoes at Shoe Privee!

Most shoes at Shoe Privee cost $39.95, although a few pairs cost $49.95. While the deal says there is an extra fee for shipping, I would imagine that if you purchased a $39.95, the extra could be applied toward shipping, but please don’t hold me to that because I’m just speculating at this point.

While Shoe Privee is similar to sites like ShoeMint, JustFabulous, and Sole Society, Shoe Privee does NOT charge a monthly membership fee. Click here to check out what Shoe Privee is all about.

Shop Quick: 20% Off All Women’s Shoes at Piperlime

by Lisa on April 1st, 2012

It’s time for one of my favorite Piperlime sales of the year! Take 20% off ALL WOMEN’S SHOES when you use code “SHOETIME” at checkout. This offer is valid on sale shoes, which is music to my checkbook. :)

The only downside  to this sale – if you can call it a downside – is that it doesn’t last long. The sale lasts only through tomorrow, April 2, 2012.

Here are just a few of the pairs I have my eye on:

Vince Camuto Oneda Round Toe Flats

Cap toe shoes are SO in right now, so these Vince Camuto Oneda Round Toe Flats are right on trend! • Originally $98, on sale for $79.99, get them for $64 after discount

Hive & Honey Ivan High Shaft Flat Heel Boots

We’re pretty much past boot season at this point, but that makes this the perfect time to stock up for next year since everything’s currently on sale! Snag these Hive & Honey Ivan High Shaft Flat Heel Boots in one of three colors while the price is right. Originally $149, they’re currently on sale for $89.99. With the extra discount the price falls to $72.

Nine West Ambitious High Pumps

Polka dots are making a resurgence right now so these Nine West Ambitious High Pumps are right on trend. Originally $69, they’re now on sale for $39.99. They’ll cost $32 after the extra discount.

Sam Edelman Josie High Wedge Sandals

These Sam Edelman Josie High Wedge Sandals combine three of my favorite trends: nude colors, wedges, and cork. Oh, and I should add a fourth: they’re on double sale! Originally $150, they’re on sale for $89.99. After the additional 20% discount the price drops to $72.
