As much as it pains me to ask this, do y’all foresee a time in the {hopefully} far-off future when all reading is done on tiny little devices?  Because let me tell ya – Amazon’s Kindle is certainly rising in popularity!

I live in Chicago and make frequent use of public transportation.  The number of people carrying Kindles to keep themselves entertained keeps increasing.  I’ll be the first to admit that I thought the Kindle would be a quick-dying fad when they were released.  I assumed holding a machine would get old and people would start yearning for the feel of paper in their hands.

Boy was I ever wrong.  Kindles are more popular than ever!  With competition from Barnes & Noble’s Nook and Mac’s upcoming iPad, wireless reading devices will soon be everywhere.

Which is why a Kindle just might be a good last minute Valentine’s Day gift for that person in your life that loves to read.  They can still be {kind-of} on the cutting edge of technology, all of their future book purchases will cost less {most new digital books cost just $9.99}, and it’ll eliminate the hassle of carrying around heavy books {especially useful if you spend a lot of time on public transportation}.

Valentine’s Day has never been a big deal to me.  There are some years I forget the holiday exists because mushy stuff is just not my forte.  With that being said, there is one thing that makes me super duper happy this time of year – pretty much all chocolate goes on sale.  The cheap stuff, the good stuff… it doesn’t matter.  It’s all cheaper than it costs at pretty much any other time of the year.

Chicago-based Vosges Haut-Chocolat is one of my all-time favorite chocolate shops.  I’ve talked about them on here before because I am a big fan of all of their bacon and chocolate items, especially the Mo’s Bacon Bar.
