Mother’s Day Gift Idea: Jonathan Adler Mom Paperweight

by Lisa on May 3rd, 2012

Jonathan Adler Mom Paperweight

Raise your hand if you’ve ever used a paperweight.

I’ve owned paperweights and I’ve had them on my desk, but I’ve never exactly used them to hold down paper. They have served a primarily decorative purpose.

This is neither here nor there, I suppose, because perhaps moms know how to use paperweights better than I do. And if your mom is a paperweight fiend I recommend checking out this Jonathan Adler Mom Paperweight.

Hello – it’s Jonathan Adler. It says “mom” in cross stitch and rumor has it that moms can never have enough items that say “mom” on it. But I repeat again – it’s Jonathan Adler which automatically makes it that much more chic!

Pick up the Jonathan Adler Mom Paperweight from Kirna Zabete for $40.

Sterling Silver Loved Ring

What better way to show mom how much you love her than with this gorgeous Sterling Silver Loved Ring? On one side you get the word “loved,” and on the other side you get two small diamonds. Something tells me this is a gift mom will wear every single day.

The ring costs $180 at AHAlife, but if you join their mailing list you’ll get $10 off your first purchase.

Mother’s Day Gift Idea: Nook Simple Touch

300x250 - NOOK™ Mother's Day promotion

Just in time for Mother’s Day, Barnes & Noble has temporarily decreased the price of their Nook Simple Touch from $99 to $79. It will only be available at this reduced price through May 12, 2012.

I know there are tons of people out there who absolutely refuse to try out an electronic reading device based on principle, but I have to tell you – I really, really LOVE mine. While I have a Kindle, it’s very similar to the Nook Simple Touch in that the screen is matte and nicely replicates looking at the page of a book. It’s not like reading on an iPad or computer where you have the bring screen. While you can’t replicate the feel or smell of books, I love that my reader is lighter than most books and you can’t beat the convenience of being able to buy books anywhere in the world!

Fab Gift Idea: Trunki Ride-On Suitcase

by Lisa on February 14th, 2012

Trunki Ride-On Suitcase

True Story: Yesterday morning I was talking to Shaina about how my friends are all starting to have babies and I wanted to find unique gifts for them. Many of my friends enjoy traveling so I told Shaina about how I had seen these awesome suitcases all over Europe that looked like animals and had wheels and an indent for a seat so the kids could ride on their suitcases. {There’s also a string so their parents could pull them along.} I told Shaina this would be such a fun gift for all of my traveling friends.

After a quick google search Shaina found a website in England selling Trunki Ride-On Suitcases and I was seriously considering importing one before I began my daily exploration of the sample sale websites.

Color me shocked when I opened up The Foundary to find they were having a sale on Trunk Ride-On Suitcases! If that’s not kismet, I don’t know what is.

Trunki Ride-On Suitcase

Each suitcase comes with a selection of stickers so that kids can have fun doing some decorating. Really, they’re just the world’s cutest suitcases and I totally think there should be a grown-up version. I’d love to sit and wheel myself through an airport.

I’ve since found these suitcases on a few American websites and the going price seems to be $39.95. The Foundary still has a full selection for $34 each, so definitely a bit of a savings there.

I’m pretty excited to gift these suitcases to my friends and know it’s a gift their babies will enjoy for years to come.
