Groupon Has $6 Tickets to Katherine Heigl’s New Movie

by Lisa on January 25th, 2012

I feel like it has been FOREVER since I have featured a Groupon deal here, but they’re back with a good one today!

Via Groupon you can snag a $6 ticket to Katherine Heigl’s new movie One for the Money, which is an adaptation of the book by the same name from Janet Evanovich. $6 will get you one ticket, or $12 will get you two.

The movie gets released this Friday and you’ll be able to use your tickets at any participating theater as long as the movie is available.

Check here to find the theatre near you that will accept the Groupon … though most of them should!

Shaina and I took advantage of a similar Groupon last year and went to see The Lincoln Lawyer. {Am I alone in wishing Groupon would offer more movie deals like this?!}

Get 2 Fandango Tickets for $5 Each

by Lisa on October 13th, 2011

There must be some weird unwritten rule that whenever there are going to be movie deals at the daily deal sites there are going to be multiple movie deals.

Anyhoo, hurry on over to Google Offers because they’ve got Fandango tickets for $5!  You can purchase up to two at this price {but only 1 at a time}.  You can use these tickets at any theatre that accepts Fandango and they CAN be used on opening night if you so choose.

I would hurry – the last time Google had this deal it didn’t last long.  If the link doesn’t take you directly there, you’ll find this deal under NYC Downtown.

My Go-To Movie Collection Now Includes Something Borrowed

by Lisa on August 25th, 2011

Something Borrowed - Widescreen

Today at lunch I ran out to pick up one of my new go-to movies:  Something Borrowed. I LOVED Something Borrowed when I saw it in the theatres, and knew even then that I would be purchasing this as soon as it got released.  {Mainly because John Krasinski’s character is so dang cute!}

I don’t buy too many movies at all, so for me, go-to movies are the movies I pull out of storage every time I have a weekend alone. I pull out the chick flicks and veg away.

The other movies in my go-to collection include:

The Notebook - Widescreen Fullscreen Subtitle AC3

Sweet Home Alabama -

Dirty Dancing - Widescreen Subtitle AC3 Anniversary

It’s a pretty small collection, but these are the movies that make me the happiest, and I think I’ve seen each at least 100 times.

Tell me – what’s your go-to movie when you get some alone time?

Jamie King Steps Out in Lace Dress from Banana Republic’s Mad Men Capsule Collection

by Lisa on August 3rd, 2011

Jamie King Banana Republic Capsule Collection

I am counting the days until August 11 when Banana Republic’s latest Mad Men Capsule Collection will hit the racks.  The preview at Gilt a few weeks back was incredible – I was seriously tempted to purchase one of everything.

Celebs being celebs, they were able to get their hands on some of the styles before any of us.   Just this weekend, actress Jamie King donned a lace cap-sleeve dress from the Banana Republic Mad Men capsule, pairing it with leather oxfords for a sweet-meets-tough girl look.

King wore the dress Saturday for the Carrera Sunglasses Escape LA, held at Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood.

Love it!

Now hurry up, August 11 so the rest of us can get our hands on these pieces!

Weekly Cinema: Two Movie Tickets Per Month for $12.99 + 1 Free Ticket

by Lisa on September 9th, 2010

A little while back I told you about a new website, Weekly Cinema, where you can sign up for a monthly movie ticket subscription. At the time they were only offering one plan: 4 movie tickets per mont + 1 for free. Unless you have a family I’m guessing that most people probably won’t use up 5 movie tickets each month.

I was excited to see that they have amended their offer! Now, for just $12.99 you can receive two movie tickets each month, bringing the price of each ticket down to just $6.50. I don’t know about you but here in Chicago movie tickets cost about 3 times that price, making this an incredible deal. Plus, you’ll also receive one free movie just for testing out the service!

You don’t have to use the tickets in the month you receive them. What you will receive are Fandango codes, which are valid for 90 days. Your Fandango voucher will cover the cost of any ticket up to $14. The code is even valid for IMAX and 3-D movies, although you might have to pay the overage if the ticket costs more than $14.

This is truly a fab deal and I’m actually about to sign up for 2 subscriptions. One for me and one for my parents. $12.99 to give them hours of entertainment is nothing, especially when you consider that going to the movies is one of their favorite activities! You can cancel your subscription at any time without any cancellation fees.

Weekly Cinema also has a fab referral program. You can receive one free movie ticket for each friend you refer that registers for a subscription.
