When I was at Target yesterday I seriously fell in love with everything I saw. {I also re-fell in love with Target when I learned that the Target that is within walking distance of my apartment is being converted into a Target + full grocery store!} Let’s just get to the pretty little items I spotted and want oh so badly, shall we?

First up, there’s the Merona® Women’s Chambray Sundress.

This dress is so adorable and the material is very lightweight – perfect for summer! In person the dress almost looked like it was made of linen. It rings up at a very affordable $24.99.

I’m still on a navy and white kick this summer, so the Merona® Collection Women’s Ava Shift Dress blends perfectly in with the rest of my wardrobe.

One of the online reviews of the dress made me laugh because it says, “Just like Lilly Pulitzer… Only Affordable!” I have to agree. The cut of the dress combined with the lace down the center reminds me very much of some of the items you’d find at LP. And I’m inclined to agree on the price as well, as this dress is only $39.99.

So you might laugh when I tell you why my eye was directed toward this Merona® Women’s Essential Blue Print Cardigan.

Every morning I drink coffee in the car on my way to work and every morning, without fail, a drop or two spills onto the top of whatever shirt I’m wearing. I stay away from white as much as possible for this very reason, but I saw this shirt and thought to myself, “hmmm… I wonder if that lovely blue pattern would cover up any potential coffee drips?” Aside from its camouflage capabilities, this really is a lovely sweater that’ll work just as well now as it will a few months from now. The sweater costs $19.99.

My Target was filled with so much vibrant colored clothing! This Merona Women’s Lightweight Berry Paisley Camp Shirt is no exception.

The shirt is 100% cotton and felt very lightweight. I don’t own any anything quite like this shirt and it would certainly be a welcome addition to my closet! Plus, it’s a steal at just $15!

Sorry for the lack of posts on my favorite store Target recently – can you believe I hadn’t actually set foot in a Target for almost three weeks?! I finally returned on Friday and I walked around the store in a bit of a daze, so happy was I to be back at the mother ship.

I think the biggest news that Target has going on right now is that today was the launch date for their new Zac Posen line.  I’m sad I haven’t seen anything in person because – and maybe this is sacrilege – but I’m just not a fan of what I see online.  Maybe ZP just isn’t my cup of tea.

For instance, I’m having a really hard time seeing these Zac Posen for Target Chambray Bermuda Shorts {$27} as remotely fashionable or cute.

But then again, what do I know? They’ve probably already sold out in-stores.

Merona has a great line of summer dresses out right now.  They come in so many different colors that I momentarily considered an entire wardrobe of nothing but summer dresses.  Though I’m not normally much for patterns I ended up purchasing this Merona Women’s Scoop Neck Dress in Blue Paisley Print.

I couldn’t resist it for $20, but now it’s on sale for $18. Believe me when I say these dresses are perfect for summer – they’re not super low cut so they’re wearable at work. The material is light and wearable. You can’t see it in the image above, but there is a flattering rouching of the material across the bust. Plus, it’s A-Line, so it’s flattering on everyone. I highly recommend!

My eye was also drawn to this similarly-colored but far more formal Merona Collection Women’s Lola Printed Dress.

I love the twist at the neckline and the back of the dress, although I also worry that it could be a little uncomfortable.  The material is on the thicker side, so this dress would be great for more formal settings.  It’s perhaps a little pricey at $39.99, but I would definitely pick this up once it hits the clearance racks.

After a one-week hiatus, Weekends at Target is back! I didn’t get a chance to stop by Target this past week or weekend {sad face}. I’m definitely going to have to remedy that this week. Maybe tomorrow?

I just randomly clicked a link on Target’s website that said “Daily Candy.”  Daily Candy sends out the best shopping emails each day… you might call me a little obsessed.  Thanks to this obsession I’m a little embarrassed to say that I had no idea Daily Candy teams up with Target each month to offer up their picks of stylish items.  They call this the Red Hot Shop.

I’m not terribly impressed with their selections for March, but with this month just about over I’m eager to see their picks for April!

Along the same lines, I hope y’all are checking out Target’s Daily Deal each day.  Sometimes they feature some great products at very discounted prices that ship for free.  It’s definitely my favorite part of the Target site.

It’s a great time to shop Target’s clearance section – there are so many cute dresses on sale!

A little back story: As far as Chicago goes, I kind of live in the middle of nowhere. The only place worth visiting that’s within walking distance of my house is a Target. And what a magnificent Target it is – it’s two stories tall!  Because of my close proximity to said Target I was certain I’d be able to get there before everyone else in Chicago.  I was there at 10 a.m. this morning.  I would have been there at 9 a.m. except for the dang time change.

At 10 a.m. this morning the vast majority of the Liberty of London housewares were already SOLD OUT.  Two hours after the store opened they were sold out of almost everything.  Crazy, right?

I didn’t end up buying anything.  {Shocking, I know!}  I have a good reason though, I swear!  First of all, I {and everyone} can save $5 off an order of $50 when shopping online. Second, I thought I’d see if the selection of products available online was better than the selection available in stores.

I am disappointed to report that while many items are actually cheaper online than they are in-stores, probably 75% of all Liberty of London items are SOLD OUT online.  Boo to that.  Clearly I thought the Liberty of London would be popular, but either it’s ridiculously so or Target severely underestimated how much of this stuff they would be able to sell.

With that being said, I’ll share with you all a few of my favorite items and hope they become available again in the near future.  Hopefully you will all have better luck at your local Targets!

One of my favorite items I found at the store was a bathing-suit cover, of all things!

This Royal Print Tunic Swim Coverup is so cute in-person and the material is so light.  {Don’t tell anyone, but I think this could easily be worn as a non-swim tunic/ shirt.}  Cost: $24.99

I really wanted a set of these Prep Bowls, but they were sold out both online and in the store.

I almost walked out with a Large Tapered Bin in Black Floral but thought I’d just go ahead and order it online.  Shockingly enough, it’s still available online!

The bin was big enough to hold lots of junk goods, and seemed to be pretty sturdy.  Plus, it’s fairly reasonably priced at $12.99.

This Mauverina Print Double Strap Dress was really pretty in person and it’s made out of a nice-feeling material:

Plus, that belt around the waste is really cute.  The dress is pretty reasonably priced at $29.99, plus the dress ships free with any purchase over $50!

I was really excited to check out the Liberty of London dishware, but was pretty disappointed to learn that most of it is plastic.  {Maybe I’m the silly one for expecting it to be ceramic?}  The plastic looks fantastic, but still – it’s plastic.  I cannot buy all new plastic dishes.

With that being said, I may still pick up these Dunclare Black Cereal Bowls:

They’re super cute and I’m pretty sure I’d be happy eating cereal out of these!  While online you can only buy them in a set of 8 bowls for $19.99 online, you can buy them individually for about $2.50 at the store.

**Edited to Add: Miss Bargainista correctly pointed out that all of Target’s sold out Liberty of London items are now showing up on eBay for up to 3x the retail price.  How disappointing this is for all of us.  Really, this makes me kind of ill.  Based on the number of items that are already being sold, it’s no wonder my local Target didn’t have anything left.
