I simply can’t wait for spring. I love the flowers blooming, not having to wear a coat, and now I can pull all of my dresses and skirts out of hibernation. So, imagine my excitement when asked to do a product review on a dress. Yes please!
Totes adorbs right? And another awesome fact? It’s from Etsy and you all know how much I heart Etsy. Bonus!
Since this is more of a product/ shop review rather than a typical Etsy Monday post, I’m going to be focusing more on the communication with the shop owner and the quality of work. Some important things I think folks need to know when ordering items!
The shop’s owner, Chie, is delightful. She is a self-taught seamstress living in Japan. And another reason she is so fabulous? She donates 10% of the profit to the Christian ministry in Thailand, where they help women who were forced into prostitution. I love when shops donate to charity!
Ok, more about Chie. She was extremely prompt with all the emails I sent her. This surprised me, being in Japan, that I’d send an email and within a few hours I’d have a response. Goes to show that no matter how far away you are, good customer service is good customer service.
Now, on to the dress. I love it. It’s a very lightweight material, which is good, because it gets hot as Hades here in Maryland in the summer. However, even though it’s white and lightweight, it is not see through. That was my something that I was slightly worried about. But alas, no need for alarm. Another awesome fact? The strap that makes it a halter is removable, so I can wear it as a strapless if I’d like. Frankly, I’m glad this option is available. I don’t wear strapless dresses because I spend all day tugging at them, so having the strap really made me feel comfortable. Also, it has great coverage, so my girls were well covered if I do decide to go the strapless route. That is my biggest fear. No one wants to see that!
The quality of work is amazing. I can tell that it took a long time to make and it fits me like a glove! I can’t wait for warm weather so I can throw this bad boy on and hit the town! Make sure you check out her store. I am in love with her Secret Garden collection. Chie adds new items every week so be sure to check back often. Also, if there is an item you love, but wish it was a different size, be sure to let her know. She is a pro when it comes to custom orders!
Now, I’m sure you are looking at Chie’s work just drooling! I know I did! Well, she is wonderful and is providing all you lovely readers with a coupon code. Frugal20 will get you 20% off any item in her shop!
But wait, there’s more! On the left hand side of her shop is a section called Fantabulously Frugal. If you order from that section, you will get an additional 10% off – yes, on top of the 20% discount! Since it’s tricky to setup a Fantabulously Frugal section specific coupon (Etsy doesnt have that option) Chie will refund the buyer 10% after the purchase. Awesome.
