“Local heroes” need to print out the Storewide Savings Pass found in this flyer: http://www.sears.com/ue/home/8.28+Salute+Flyer.pdf, and they also need ID to prove their “local hero” status.

The sale is nationwide with the exception of these cities, which will hold their Salue to Heroes on September 4 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.: Boston. MA; Seattle, WA; Miami, FL; Raleigh-Durham, NC; Dallas, TX and Cincinnati, OH. The offer will be the same: extra 10% off apparel, shoes, lawn and garden, tools, home fashions, electronics, automotive and more.

Giveaway

In conjunction with their Salute to Local Heroes Sears has provided me with two $25 gift cards to give away to the wonderful readers of Fantabulously Frugal!

Unfortunately you won’t be able to use them on this promotion, but Sears always has a sale going on that will help you get the most out of your gift card, including these two happening in September: September 12 – Family & Friends Sale and September 25 – Salute to Heroes Sale.

To Enter:

Required: Leave a comment sharing how you would surprise a family member or friend who’s a “local hero” if you received the Sears gift card, for example: “My cousin just came back from serving overseas – I’d love to surprise him with some new Craftsman tools!.”  {No worries – this is no actual stipulation on how you will need to spend your gift card!}

For an extra entry, Like Fantabulously Frugal on Facebook.  Leave a comment letting me know you’re a “liker.”

This giveaway will remain open through September 2, 2010.  Two people will be randomly selected to win one $25 Sears gift card each.

Disclosure: All opinions expressed are mine.  Sears provided me with one $50 gift card and two $25 gift cards.

I would surprise my husband with this gift card so he can purchase some tools. He so deserves it as he has been my rock over the worst few months I have had. So thank you Hubby!

My best friend is a mechanic over in Afghanistan right now - I'd love to surprise him with some new Craftsman tools!

I would surprise my mom who works tirelessly helping the elderly with something to pamper herself -- a comfy robe, vanilla hand cream, and some super soft slippers.

I would like to surprise my boyfriend who is not only my everyday hero, but a vet. An Army Ranger to be exact! HOOAH! I'm sure he would love some tools, or some other manly possession. He treats me right and that just adds to what a wonderful man he already is.

I would love to include the gift card in a basket that I will be raffling off at a fundraiser for the Pennsylvania Lung Cancer Partnership on 9/19/10, in honor of my father who passed away from the disease 2 years ago. He was a wonderful person who served his country in Vietnam and was a hero to me and my family -- he's greatly missed.

I would like to give this to a young single mother who doesn't have much with 2 small kids. She works at the same retirement community that my husband does. A very sweet girl

I would love to buy my husband some tools. He's my hero!

I'd like to surprise my cousin who is in training to be a military photojournalist with a little carepackage!

Wow, that's a tough question! A friend volunteers and sends a lot of things overseas to our military personnel. It would be great to reward her for all of her hard work!
thanks!

I have two heroes I'd salute. The first is my mom for raising both my niece and nephew. She's taught them to look up to policemen/women, fire fighters and our military vets. She's simply amazing and can always use a Sears' giftcard for those little things around her house.

My second hero is one of my closest friend's husband. He is shipping off this month for his fourth tour in "the sandbox". His 2nd to Afghanistan after two others in Iraq. He is a true hero in my book. He has an old classic car & is always working on it. Tools to help him with that would be perfect.

I wish I could win them both!

My son is my local hero. He just graduated from college and found a job soon thereafter and I would give this to him to buy tools he needed for his house.

My dad works in the heat all day in the summer and the cold all day in the winter. It's tough work and hard on him, but he's an amazing guy. He loves tools so I'd be really excited to give him this!

My husband is my hero because he’s a great father. I would like to surprise him with some new clothes from Sears.

my mom has been a 5th year teacher for 36 years, this is her retire year, I think that merits a giftcard present for certain!

am also a FB fan of FF.

I'd surprise my husband. He's a teacher and could really use some new clothes for the new year. I think it's heroic every time someone steps into a classroom.

I would like to surprise my husband with a new toolbox.

My brother just decided he's going back to school. I would love to get him some new tools from Sears!

My brother is in the service and I would love to suprise him with a new grill this Christmas! :)

My husband just completed his first overseas tour this May! He needs to use it on clothing because I am officially tired of seeing him in camo!

My brother just got his first job as a 5th grade teacher. I'd love to surprise him with a gift card to buy new work clothes for his job!

I would love to surprise my cousin who is a teacher with someone new she could wear to school.

My daughter works the evening shift in the Cardio Vascular Surgery Unit at UAB hospital. She has also gone back to college to get a masters in nursing. Her days are filled with work and school with not much time for socializing and fun so I would like to surprise her with a Sears gift card to help brighten her day.

My mom's putting together a charity event for kids with cancer. I'd love to surprise her with some toy to add to the donations they already have.
