While I haven’t mentioned Kembrel on this site, eagle eyes may have noticed the new sample sale site popping up in my daily listings from time to time.  In short, Kembrel is an online sample sale site that was started by a group of students in the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.  Originally only college students with .edu email addresses could register for the site, and while it’s still marketed toward college-age students, anyone can register.

You know I registered and I am a huge fan!  They offer great discounts on items that I can afford.  Sure, I’m uncomfortably close to being a decade removed from college, but that doesn’t mean I can always afford the high-end items being sold at Gilt, Ideeli, or Rue La La.

Kembrel was already a great site on its own, but now they’ve just upped the ante a bit.  Kembrel is now the world’s first private sale site that can be accessed entirely through Facebook!  Crazy, in a good way, right?!  You can do all of your shopping without needing to go to another website.

I’m loving how a group of students are about to rework the online sample sale industry.  About a month ago Gilt announced that you could “preview” their sales on Facebook an hour before the sales went live at Gilt.com.  Now, I wonder, how long until all of these sites follow Kembrel’s lead and launch their own Facebook stores?
