31 Days of Giveaways

Today’s giveaway is for the brand-new book What to Wear for the Rest of Your Life: Ageless Secrets of Style by Kim Johnson Gross.

What to Wear For the Rest of Your Life

Every woman’s closet-no matter the size-is a room of her own. In that space hang side by side the special occasions and the everyday, the triumphs and the disasters, the memories we want to keep and those we should jettison. Gross helps us to reconsider our closet identity and discover who we want to be. She shares her personal journey and the intimate, poignant and often humorous stories of the dozens of women she interviewed across the country. Along with calming fashion advice about how to choose flattering clothes that will fit any woman’s shape and style, Gross’s engaging stories will help every woman evolve gracefully from wife to mother, from empty-nester to globe-trotting adventurer–whatever role she chooses–while letting her style express her inner beauty.

I had the opportunity to read this book and I can attest that it is chock-full of helpful tips for dressing well.  Sometimes the book feels like it is being written for an older age group, many of the tips defy generation.  For instance, Gross recommends that every woman have a section of her closet that she calls her “feel good closet.”  The purpose of this point of the closet is that it is filled with clothes that not only make you look good, but also make you feel good.  When I first read this I thought “well, obviously…” but the more I thought about my own closet I realized I have many articles of clothing that may be appropriate for work but which I hate wearing.

Not only does Gross cover clothing in this book, but she also talks about jewelry, hair, make-up, shoes, and accessories.  If it’s something you can “wear,” she covers it.  But Gross doesn’t just rely on herself when dispensing the advice – the book is filled with interviews of other women sharing their advice.  The book is also fun to read as it’s filled with fun illustrations and actually feels like a close girlfriend may have been the author.  In short, I highly recommend it!

And now one of you lovelies will have the opportunity to win a copy!
