Giveaway Day 11: $100 Gift Certificate to April Showers Blog Design – Closed

by Lisa on May 11, 2010

31 Days of Giveaways

Today’s giveaway is sponsored by one of the very first blogs I read here on this thing they call the internet – April Showers Blog Design.

April Showers is a mix of a personal blog for April, as well as where you can find information about her blog design services.  April does amazing blog design work and her designs are incredibly unique.  You can always tell when a blog has been designed by April because everything is perfect, down to the very last detail.

The winner of this giveaway will win a $100 gift certificate to April Showers Blog Design!

This is a pretty big deal because if you follow April then you know that she has had to shut her waiting list because she’s so in demand!  But this giveaway will put you on the list to receive an overhaul from April!  {Yep, when people ask you’ll be able to say “I’m on the list.”}

**This giveaway is now closed.  Thanks to all that entered!**

I recently got married, so I spent all my money on the wedding and have no money to get the blog redesigned. I’m using free blog designs right now and I have to keep changing because the designer will pull the rights to the pictures and such. Very frustrating.

I am a college student, I am struggling to pay for college (both regular sessions and summer sessions). I really want my blog to become very popular over the summer, and I’ve been trying to find some free layouts that look really good that I can customize myself, but customizing a layout takes me for ever. April Showers blog will be able to create a layout for me that I will love. I also think that because my blog design will look a lot better, I’ll be able to get more traffic on my blog.

My blog started out as a personal project and has really picked up readership and opened up many new doors for me. I’d like to streamline my blog but am totally clueless as to how to do it. Any help will be appreciated!

I have just a little blog right now, but am ready to take it up a notch. I have dozens of draft entries awaiting the final touch ups on projects, overhauls, remodels, etc. but I end up spending 80% of my ‘blogging’ time on fussing at coding and research on coding. I love my layout and try to keep it simple, but I have so many issues that its too hard for my readers to follow me, look at archived entries, the list goes on but those are the biggest frustrations.

I started a product review & giveaway blog recently and I’m using one of the generic Wordpress themes. It’s not exciting or professional. I think my blog’s look is very forgettable, and definitely doesn’t live up to its name, “Grand Giveaways”. I would love to have a spunky and fresh looking blog header, because right now my readers must be bored to tears.

A blog’s design and layout is the first thing that catches a reader’s eye and I want mine to be one that is whimsical, appealing, and keeps readers coming back.

My little blog has evolved a bit and I want the design to reflect a modern, more polished aesthetic as well (I look at it and it’s a very initial blogger layout kinda blog). I also want to continue to highlight Chic ‘n Cheap products, better giveaways and possibly writers that could cover all aspects of the Chic ‘n Cheap lifestyle and feel a more cohesive layout could really be the catalyst for great change.
A great design is the first key in presenting a great blog. If you help with the design, I’ll do my best on the rest!

Thanks for the giveaway!

I NEED to have my blog redesigned because I want to keep it up and running after I get married as a place for Arizona Wedding Inspiration and for that it needs a better look. I want to have a layout inspired by the beautiful red rock of Sedona, which is where I will be getting married.

I feel that if it had a more professional/polished look I would get more photography submissions for real weddings. My fingers are crossed because I absolutely NEED this redesign!
Thank you for hosting this amazing giveaway!

My blog chronicles my struggle with infertility. Through the blog, I have been able to connect with many other women dealing with similar issues, which has been a huge lifesaver for me. There are two reasons that I need a blog redesign:

1) I’m at the point where I’d really like to start reaching a broader audience of women who have been diagnosed with the same problem that I have (hypothalamic amenorrhea). It’s one of the few infertility issues that is actually entirely preventable, if more people (mostly women and their doctors) knew more about it. However, I feel like my current blog design doesn’t look professional/reliable enough for me to be able to be a voice that could reach more women who aren’t already blogging about infertility–women who could actually keep themselves from being in my position later on by making different choices in their lives now.

2) I am starting a new cycle and a new round of treatment, trying to heal myself more naturally and work with my body rather than against it. I need to take a fresh and new approach to my life in many ways to help make this work. Having a new, fresh look on my blog will go a long way in helping me to start thinking a approaching life in a new way!

When I married my husband, a Navy FA18 pilot, I struggled to find an identity all my own. We moved every 9 months to a year in the beginning making it impossible for me to put down roots in a career. After months of interviewing and resume submitting, I finally decided it was time to grow a career all my own. I decided to freelance write, as I harbored visions of such freedom and creativity since I was young. I threw together a blog, to set myself up in the online world, and went about trying different genres and pitching ideas like scattered seeds. I’m just starting to see some of those seeds come to harvest, carving out a niche for myself. It’s time that my online prescence reflected those successful seeds, that personal identity I have created, more than just being “his wife,” a place and passion all my own.

Caring for others is my passion, making my work as a massage therapist more of a vocation than a job. Over the last two years, however, my caring skills have been required closer to home. Attending to my father during his terminal illness, dealing with his eventual death and the aftermath with my wheelchair-bound mother, spending two months out of the country for my husband’s job, and assisting my mother moving from out-of-state to be closer to us have all eroded my ability to serve my clients. Things are settling down, and I’m joyfully restarting my business. A new location, a new name, a new logo, along with a marketing strategy I’ve been working on during my unanticipated hiatus, are exciting pieces of the rebirth of my practice. What’s missing? A place for my clients to find a respite from their hectic lives between appointments. I dream of a blog with resources for relaxation, stretches for sore muscles and articles for achieving wellness. Unfortunately, I’m a perfectionist, so I don’t want just any blog. I want a blog that is unique, inspiring and inviting. In short, a blog designed by April Showers!

Thank you for the opportunity to work with you. I look forward to a fun and creative collaboration!

Wishing you peace and relaxation,
Julianne, Knotworks Massage Therapy

My friend & I started http://www.savingmoneylivinglife.com as a way to tell our friends and family how to save money because we were constantly getting asked. However, now our website has grown a lot, granted we’d like it to grow even more but our simple, free template just isn’t cutting it any more. We would love to have you organize our chaos and make our site more easily navigable. We want to keep the same clean feel, kind of a modern clean, Anthro feel if you will. A lot of money saving, couponing sites look very cluttered and we are fighting with everything within us to stay streamlined. Please help us make it better! Thank you for offering such a fabulous giveaway. *Fingers crossed! :)

I just opened a new practice, AH! I’m a chiropractor AND a newlywed and I try to blog as much as possible to keep our families and friends that live far away involved in our lives :)

3 weeks after I moved to my new practice, I found out I had to have surgery, so I’ve been out for 6 weeks – but I start back TOMORROW! Life has been nothing short of crazy lately and I would love nothing more than a blog makeover!

My sister and I have a craft blog we do together to keep us connected. We are both so busy though and struggle to get and keep a style we like and feel shares our style and vision. I have a newborn and an almost three year old keeping me so busy and my sister is planning her wedding for June while working on her dissertation. So, yeah… We need help! Thank you :)

I would love to get my Blog Redesigned! I want to get my site http://trendygirlreviews.blogspot.com/ redesigned! It is in desperate need of a makeover! Not to be a downer and give you a sob story but my mom is really sick with cancer and I have been taking care of her so really haven’t had time to work on my blog too much. I also care for my grandmother who lives alone . I work full time as well so I have a HUGE plate and this would be the inspiration I need to get my blogs up to date and hopefully some day to be able to blog full time and care for my family the way they need to be cared for! Thanks for this Giveaway!!
