The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella

I will be the first to admit that I really enjoyed the Twilight books.  I wouldn’t say they changed my life or taught me any lasting life lessons but they were definitely entertaining.

If you’re anything like me you were probably pretty excited to hear that Stephenie Meyer has written a Twilight-based novella titled The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella. It’s only 200 pages long, which means it will take approximately 2.5 minutes to read, but I am definitely adding it to my summer reading list!

The hardcover novella is available for pre-sale over at Amazon for just $7.69 right now, which is an excellent price.  {Plus, $1 of each sale will be donated to the Red Cross. heh}  The book will be shipped and available for in-store purchases on June 5, 2010.

However, for those of us that like our items FREE, Stephenie Meyer will also be releasing an e-version of the book for free on June 7, 2010.

Here’s a little blurb about the upcoming novella and how to score it for free from StephenieMeyer.com:

My publisher approached me with the idea of releasing the Bree story on its own. One of the major benefits of this plan was that it would be out before the movie, so people would get to know Bree before they saw her in the film. That made sense to me, and we decided to go ahead with it.

There was one thing I asked for: since this story had always been an extra for me, and was meant to be released with the Guide, I wanted to be able to offer it to my fans for free. You all have bought a ton of my books, and I wanted to give you this story as a gift. My publisher was awesome and embraced this idea. We still wanted to also produce a physical book with a cool cover that you can add to your set if you like, but starting at noon on June 7th until July 5th, it will also be available online at www.breetanner.com.

Pretty awesome, right? Mark your calendars for this fantastic freebie, though I’ll also be sure to remind you again in June!
