My Shape is an online store with a very interesting concept behind it.
When you go to the online retailer you are prompted to fill out a personal profile. You will provide them with information about your style preferences and then go so far as to provide them with your personal body measurements (eek!). It’s a lot of information when you first get to a site, but here’s the reason why they need the info: A personal shop will be set up for you, with clothes that may interest you based on your style preferences, and clothes that will flatter your body based on the measurements you provide! Though it takes quite a while to get started, the concept behind the store is absolutely brilliant. (Even if it is kind of scary plugging in personal measurement after personal measurement.)
My Shape is kind of like having a personal shopper. The site just sits there waiting to give you recommendations on clothing that will look good on you. Dangerous!
Another neat concept – based on the measurements you provide, you can work with the system to design jeans to FIT and FLATTER your body. Believe me, as someone that finds a pair of jeans I adore once ever year and a half, this could be a wonderful site feature.
If you are not comfortable sharing so much information with the site, you are of course free to shop the site just like any other. You just won’t have the personal recommendations.
Right now My Shape is taking 40% off the price of all Sale and Last Call items.
Even though it’s a much better Spring skirt than Fall skirt, I’m loving this Tiered Linen Tie-Waist Skirt:
It originally cost $66 and it’s currently on Last Call for $29.49. The additional 40% discount brings the price down to just $17.70. (And according the the site, this skirt would flatter every figure!)
To take advantage of the 40% discount just enter promo code EXTRA40 at checkout. Discount is only good through September 7, 2009.
