Acts of Kindness: Molly Lou Gifts & The Monroe County Humane Association + Exclusive Discount Codes

by Lisa on September 8th, 2009

This is the second feature in the Acts of Kindness series profiling the fundraising efforts of bloggers looking to make a difference in their communities.

My real-life friend Shaina recently decided that she wanted to participate in the Monroe County Humane Association Walk for the Animals, which is taking place on October 4, 2009.  Shaina volunteers with the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization in Bloomington, Indiana, and has spent many afternoons taking care of animals at the Humane Association with her Little Sister.  As such, it is only fitting that Shaina and her Little will be making the walk together.  The Walk for the Animals is the largest animal welfare event in South Central Indiana, and last year the event raised an astonishing amount of money – more than $23,000!

Shaina’s personal fund-raising goal is pretty large – $500!  Shaina asked the blogosphere for help in attaining her goal, and a few wonderful bloggers came through.  (If you are interested in donating, you can click here.)

One wonderful lady went above and beyond in trying to help Shaina with her fundraising efforts.  Brittany is the owner of the wonderful online gift shop Molly Lou Gifts.  Every month 10% of the proceeds from purchases made at Molly Lou Gifts are donated to charity, and this month Brittany has so generously decided that 10% will be donated to Shaina’s fundraising efforts for the Monroe County Humane Association.

Because Brittany is so wonderful, and because her shop is amazing and filled with things I love, please let me show you around a bit.

At Molly Lou Gifts you’ll find such wonderful items as this Birthday Cupcake Folded Note Set:

Those notes combine two of my very favorite things in the world: cupcakes and note cards!

I’ve never seen Stationery Ensembles before, but I’m now absolutely obsessed with this Trio Monogram Stationery Ensemble:

The ensemble includes 150 cards! 50 large cards, 50 medium cards, and 50 enclosure cards, all with coordinating envelopes.

Were I married, these Holiday Dots Monogram Greeting Cards would be mine:

I am pretty sure these are the cutest holiday cards I have ever seen.  To heck with being married – I might just have to purchase them anyhow.

Because Molly Lou Gifts is one of the best stores on the internet (not to mention generous), MLG is offering readers of Fantabulously Frugal an exclusive 20% discount!!  Wow!

To receive your discount, enter promo code FANTABFRUGAL at checkout.

This is, my friends, a win-win situation for everyone.  You get 20% off your Molly Lou Gifts order, and 10% of all proceeds will go directly toward Shaina’s fundraising efforts for the Monroe County Humane Association.

If you have any stationery or gift needs, or even want to get an early start on your holiday card shopping, I urge you to check out Molly Lou Gifts.  I’m pretty certain you’ll love what you find, and each and every purchase you make is helping out the animals in South Central Indiana.
