Heading to Chicago? Take a Free Tour!

by Lisa on June 3rd, 2009

If you often travel to new cities and take tours you will know that touring is not cheap.  Especially not when you’re on a fairly small tour that’s being lead by a passionate local.  Well now my pal Arthur Frommer just told me that Chicago has just become the first city in the country to offer free hour-long tours of the city.  And not only are they free but you don’t need to make a reservation weeks ahead of time!

You know what that means?  That you should all visit Chicago, of course! :)

Alright, you don’t have to come immediately.  But should you plan a visit for the first time do checkout ExploreChicago.org and learn a little bit about getting a free tour of the city.  The tours appear to only be available on the weekends and meet at the Chicago Cultural Center’s Visitor Information Center.
