Etsy Monday: Mimi and Friends

by Lisa on June 30th, 2009

Hm, I am just going to get this in under the deadline! Yes! Sorry for the delay in Etsy Monday, friends – I was en route to Boston today and have just settled into my hotel. I’ll be spending the week here, first at a work conference, and then just enjoying and exploring the city. I’m pretty pumped.

But that’s neither here nor there, as this is all about Etsy. Particularly this is about Etsy store Mimi & Friends.

Pam, the owner of Mimi & Friends, has been taking photographs for a long time. She takes photographs of things she loves and then puts those images on notecards. The notecards are all 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 – just perfect for sending someone special a little note.

There’s a set of notecards with pictures of flowers that are just lovely. Look at that pink and purple – so pretty!

I’ve never been to Savannah and yet I just love this set of Savannah Note Cards. The images are enough to make me want to head to Savannah asap. Oh, wait. I will be in Savannah, in late July! :)

Pam was nice enough to answer a few questions for all of us, and even offer a few of her cute notecards as a giveaway!

1. When did you first get into photography and designing your own notecards?

My dad was a professional photographer, so I guess I was always looking through the lens for something interesting. I have to tell you that my 17 year old son is an amazing photographer, so I guess it’s in our genes.

2. How do you decide what you will photograph and then what will make it onto your cards?

I’ll photograph anything! I love the digital revolution since you get immediate results & don’t end up “wasting film.” I pick what I consider to be the most interesting and use those for my cards.

3. Do you have any plans for any new note card series in the future?

Actually I’m thinking about some of my pets (2 cats, 1 miniature schnauzer), it’s just having the time to go through all of my pics & find good ones. I’ve got 2 teenage boys, a husband, and am pursuing my bachelors degree, so time is not something I have a lot of! My husband & I are going on vacation in July so hopefully I’ll get some great shots then.

4. Do you have any plans to extend the offerings in your Etsy shop in the near future?

I want put up some of my sons shots as prints or cards. I also want to make it more obvious that any of my cards can be ordered as prints instead.

And now Pam has been kind enough to offer 8 of her notecards up for a giveaway. The winner of this giveaway will be able to choose those 8 notecards.
