Fantabulously Frugal Friday:

by Lisa on May 30th, 2009

Oh, you thought I had forgotten, hadn’t you? In my week of slacking. :)

But here it is a travel-related Fantabulously Frugal Friday.

One of my absolute favorite websites when I am booking airline tickets is

Using I have been able to book some pretty amazing flights. I know this sounds kind of silly, but the site is amazing because you don’t have to book your flight using just one airline. Say you want to fly to NYC on a Friday at 4 p.m. and fly back on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Now say United has the perfect flight out to NYC, but nothing that really fits into your schedule on your way home. Well using, you can perhaps book that flight on United, but find a flight home that works better on Delta.

But here’s the key part: You can book this two airline roundtrip flight as one trip and not pay any more money. In fact, you will often pay significantly less!

I know it sounds silly but here’s an example of a great deal I found last fall. I travel quite a bit for work and last fall I needed to book the following trip: Chicago to Pittsburgh to NYC to DC to New Orleans to Chicago. That was one trip. And that was one week. Guess how much I (my employer) paid for all of those tickets, most of which were on different airlines but booked as one giant multi-city trip through $295. And yes, this was before the cost of airline tickets began plummeting.

This is, honest to goodness, one of my favorite companies to book flights through. Next time you’re planning a trip somewhere add it to your line up of Expedia, Orbitz, Hotwire and the like. I am certain you will be pleasantly surprised!

(And hey, if you’re going to be traveling soon, entering promo code FATHER10 will save you $10 off the cost of any flight. This promo code expires June 21, 2009.)
